Under this, Central Project General Manager of Rail Vikas Nigam Ajit Singh Yadav and Deputy General Manager OP Malgudi, while jointly giving a talk organized at the main office of Rail Vikas Nigam on Friday, said that due to the interruption in the project work during the Corona period, After this, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited constructed the project in accordance with its motto of quality, speed and transparency and completed the construction of safe railway tunnels and all related structures while ensuring 100% compliance with national and international standards.

He said that the construction of 125 km long Rishikesh-Karnprayag new broad gauge rail line project of national and strategic importance is being carried out at a fast pace by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, overcoming all kinds of obstacles.
In accordance with its motto of quality, speed and transparency, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is carrying out the construction of safe railway tunnels and all related structures while ensuring 100% compliance with national and international standards.

Out of the total tunnel length of 104 km determined under the project, the work of 75 km (70 percent) has been completed till date and the mining of other tunnels is also progressing at a fast pace and 73 percent of each has been completed in compliance with the prescribed safety standards. are done.

In full compliance with the safety and engineering standards, the quantity of explosives being used during mining of each under-construction section of the tunnel is being kept within the limits of the standards laid down by the Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS), Government of India, which is being monitored by the nearby There should be no damage to the existing structures and terrestrial environment.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, while respecting the sentiments of the people living in the alignment/right of way of the project, is resolving the complaints referred by the concerned District Magistrates in a timely manner while coordinating with the State Government.

In the year 2023-2024, 60 km long tunnels have been constructed by the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of Rishikesh and the final concrete lining work of 20 km length has also been completed. Apart from this, the construction work of 04 out of 16 major railway bridges has been completed till date and the construction work of motor bridges to connect the railway stations with the National Highway in Srinagar, Gauchar and Kaleshwar/Siwai has also been completed.

Apart from the above, the following works are being done under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the year 2024-2024.
Many obstacles were faced in the past years, in which the two waves of Covid proved to be extremely fatal, which adversely affected the progress of the project. It is noteworthy that the entire project is situated under the Himalayas whose geological structures keep changing at every distance, due to which making tunnel in the Himalayas is a difficult task.
Despite all these adverse circumstances, the excavation work of the tunnel will be completed by December 2025.

Railway Vikas Corporation CM Hement Kumar, Geologist Vijay Dangwal, Deputy General Manager Bhupendra Singh, Joint General Manager Subrata Kumar, Additional General Manager Ajay Kumar, NR Arora, Omprakash were also present in the press conference.
